The Alarm Activation Process

When your alarm system is triggered, a sequence of events happens.

Step 1: Call Phone Numbers Listed on your Emergency Contact List

At the onset of an alarm activation, we will call individuals on your emergency contact list from any of our designated numbers shown below. Promptly answering will allow us to confirm your safety and assess the cause of the alarm activation. Please add our monitoring station phone numbers to display as System 5 Electronics on your Caller ID so you can answer quickly when we call.

Step 2: Verify & Assess

Once we have reached you or a person on your contact list, we will ask if police should be dispatched. During this call, your correct password or passcode will be required. If given incorrectly, police will be dispatched to ensure your safety. So please, make certain that everyone on your emergency contact list knows the password or passcode to either dispatch the police or cancel the alarm.

Choose Your Emergency Contact Numbers Wisely

Here are some key factors to consider:

  1. Responsiveness: Choose individuals who are easily accessible, regardless of the time of day. Immediate response can make a significant difference in assessing the situation accurately.
  2. Proximity: Choose emergency contacts who are close to your location. Their proximity can help determine if involving law enforcement is necessary.
The Implications of Neglecting Alarm Activation Procedures

Adhering to alarm activation protocols and emergency contact procedures is not just a formality – it’s crucial for your security. Failing to take these steps seriously can lead to potential complications:

  1. False Alarm Fines: When an alarm occurs and we are unable to reach you and it was a false alarm, your police department may issue a false alarm fine in accordance with your county or city false alarm ordinance. Answering our call can help avoid fines.
  2. Optimal Security: The thoroughness of our security measures relies on the accuracy of your emergency contact information. Be diligent in selecting responsive contacts that are close by to help ensure the overall effectiveness of our response.

At System 5 Electronics, we are dedicated to providing you with the best security measures and protocols. Your partnership in this effort is invaluable, and we are here to support you every step of the way.

Stay safe and secure.
