Recently it has been brought to our attention that there are suspicious individuals who attempt to enter people’s homes by claiming that they have been sent by a security alarm monitoring company to ensure that they are there to inspect the homeowner’s security alarm system. Never trust anyone claiming to be a technician who appears suspicious, particularly if the person claiming to be a tech:

• Did not drive to your home in a vehicle easily identifiable as a company car
• Is not wearing a company uniform
• You did not receive any kind of notification from your security monitoring company that they wanted to schedule a service call

Criminals may also pose as technicians sent from other types of companies. It is always best to apply caution before letting strangers into your home.
