Law Enforcement responds to thousands of false alarm calls every year. These unnecessary responses result in an enormous burden in resources and expense; which in turn reduces emergency unit availability to respond to real emergencies. As a result, various cities and counties throughout the Metro Atlanta area have specific requirements when it comes to alarm system registration.
Increasingly, local and county jurisdictions are requiring the owners of alarm systems to register them.
The Jurisdictions below require alarm system registration and may impose fines upon those who fail to do so.
This is a growing complete list. There’s more than 80 counties and municipalities in the Metro Atlanta area and each has their own procedures regarding the relationship between law enforcement and security system providers. Most alarm registrations are free or very inexpensive so in order to avoid costly fines and fees we ask that your check with your area law enforcement for the procedures they require.
