Mr. Maceo Brown, CEO of System 5 Electronics was awarded the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award, now renamed “Corporation of the Year” award, at the Atlanta Business League’s 35th Annual Chief Executive Officer Appreciation Luncheon.
“To receive this kind of recognition in the presence of my fellow CEO’s, especially from the Atlanta Business League, is almost beyond words,” shared the Atlanta-raised leader. “It inspires me now, and will always remain an inspiration to me.”
Brown will also be honored at the Concerned Black Clergy’s “Salute to Black Fathers” this coming June 2013, and has been chosen as a “Who’s Who in Atlanta’s CEOs” for Sonny Martin’s upcoming book “100 Years of Atlanta’s Black Heritage”.
Committed to youth entrepreneurship, Mr. Brown’s nonprofit MACEO’s Kids Foundation will highlight celebrity golfers and Atlanta leaders at their 6th Annual Golf Classic fundraiser June 10th, 2013. Brown aims to raise $20,000 to finish renovating a comprehensive training complex that can transition young adults from training and field work experience, to starting and sustaining their own businesses. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is projected for July 2013.
MACEO’s stands for “Mentoring Aspiring CEO’s”. Bringing compassionate business leaders together with promising young adults, to foster their opportunities for success, says CEO Brown, is a “mission critical to the stabilization and growth of our communities.”
